Morphy Richards MRXCYLINDERFLEX Review: Was the £59.99 Deal Worth It?
The Morphy Richards MRXCYLINDERFLEX PowerSphere is a compact bagless cylinder vacuum designed for hard floors, carpets and everyday cleaning around the home. It caught our attention after Amazon dropped the price to £59.99 from £79.99 during October 2026 deal activity. The price has since returned to £79.99, but the earlier reduction makes this a useful model to keep an eye on for the next Amazon discount.

Why was the £59.99 Amazon deal interesting?
The main attraction was the combination of a recognised household brand, a useful 2L bin and a relatively compact cylinder design at a lower-than-usual price. The MRXCYLINDERFLEX was listed at £59.99 during the recent Amazon promotion, compared with its £79.99 price.
That £20 reduction represented a 25% saving. The deal has now ended and the price has returned to £79.99, so don’t treat £59.99 as today’s price. Instead, use it as a useful benchmark if you are considering the vacuum and waiting for another promotion.
How good is the Morphy Richards PowerSphere?
The Independent’s 2026 cylinder-vacuum testing named the MRXCYLINDERFLEX its best budget cylinder vacuum. Its tester found it particularly effective on hard flooring and also reported good results from the standard floorhead on carpets and pet hair. The included pet turbo tool was also praised for upholstery cleaning.
Those are independent hands-on findings rather than claims from our own testing. The same review noted impressive suction for a compact budget vacuum, a decent bin capacity and a washable HEPA filter, while also pointing out that the power button could sometimes require a second press and that the vacuum felt somewhat flimsy.
Hard floors, carpets and pet hair
This model is designed to handle different floor surfaces rather than specialising in just one. Its standard floorhead is intended for everyday floor cleaning, while the additional pet turbo tool gives you another option for upholstery and areas where pet hair collects.
If most of your home has hard flooring, the independent testing is particularly encouraging. For carpeted rooms, expectations should still be realistic: performance depends on the floorhead, carpet pile, debris and how quickly you move the vacuum.
2L bin and bagless design
A 2L bin gives the PowerSphere a useful capacity for a compact cylinder vacuum. Because it is bagless, there is no need to buy replacement vacuum bags, although the bin still needs to be emptied and maintained regularly.
As with any bagless vacuum, emptying the bin can release dust into the air. If you are particularly sensitive to dust, empty it carefully and follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and filter instructions.
Washable HEPA filter
The washable HEPA filter is one of the more useful features for buyers who want a reusable filtration component. The filter should be maintained according to the manufacturer’s instructions rather than simply being left in place indefinitely.
Morphy Richards provides product manuals and support information for its appliances, so check the documentation for the correct cleaning and maintenance procedure for model 700010.
Is £79.99 still a good price?
It’s reasonable, but £59.99 was the more compelling deal. The manufacturer’s current UK listing shows the MRXCYLINDERFLEX at £79.99, which is also the price it returned to after the recent Amazon promotion.
If you need a budget cylinder vacuum now, £79.99 puts this model in an interesting part of the market, particularly given its independent review credentials. However, if you are not in a hurry, the previous £59.99 Amazon price gives you a useful target for a future promotion.
Pros and cons

- 2L bagless bin
- 5m power cord
- Washable HEPA filter
- Includes a pet turbo tool
- Independent testing rated it highly as a budget cylinder vacuum
- £59.99 was a particularly attractive recent Amazon price
Cons

- The £59.99 deal has ended for now
Who is the Morphy Richards PowerSphere best for?
This vacuum makes the most sense for shoppers who want a straightforward, compact cylinder cleaner without moving into premium pricing. It could suit smaller homes, flats and anyone who prefers a traditional corded vacuum with a larger bin rather than a cordless stick model.
It is also worth considering if you have pets and want a dedicated turbo tool for upholstery and pet-hair cleaning. If cordless convenience, premium build quality or a very long cleaning radius is your priority, you may want to compare more expensive alternatives.
What to check before buying
- Check the current price: £59.99 was the recent deal price, while the current listed price has returned to £79.99.
- Check the exact model: make sure the listing is for MRXCYLINDERFLEX / model 700010.
- Consider your flooring: the independent testing was particularly positive about hard floors.
- Check the corded design: this is not a cordless vacuum, so you’ll need access to a socket while cleaning.
- Check the accessories: confirm the floorhead, pet turbo tool and combination brush are included with the listing you buy.
- Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions: particularly for the washable filter and dust bin.
Verdict
The Morphy Richards MRXCYLINDERFLEX PowerSphere is an appealing budget cylinder vacuum, particularly because independent testing rated it highly for its suction, hard-floor performance and useful accessories.
The £59.99 Amazon price was the standout deal. At £79.99, it is still worth considering if you need a compact cylinder vacuum, but shoppers who can wait may want to watch for the price to return closer to £59.99.
Deal verdict: £59.99 was a strong buy for this model. At £79.99, consider it a solid budget option rather than an exceptional deal.
